Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Sanju (2018) has been going great guns at the box office, amassing over Rs260 crore nett so far. Sanju is the biopic of actor Sanjay Dutt.

While much of Dutt's roller-coaster life has been in the public domain, many fans were in for a pleasant surprise to discover the character of Dutt's friend Kamlesh Kanhaiyalal Kapasi, referred to as Kamli. Actor Vicky Kaushal has been lauded for the role of Kamli, who provided the humour quotient in the film. Kamli’s character was based on Dutt’s friend Paresh Ghelani from America.

Ghelani joined social media recently and penned a heartfelt note to his good friend Dutt. The seasoned actor thanked Ghelani and called him his pillar of strength.

“You are the pillar of my strength. Thank you for being there, then and now. Welcome to the world of social media buddy! Love you lots,” Dutt tweeted.

Earlier, Ghelani had penned a heartfelt note for Dutt and also praised the film.

"After watching the film, Sanju I was numb, numb with limitless emotions. I wanted to just hug him, hold on to him and cry. Cry endlessly to the years we stood by and witnessed this roller coaster called life and the irrevocable loss of loved ones. To the mistakes we cannot undo, to the strength we cannot find elsewhere, but in each other,” Ghelani wrote.

Ghelani added, “Sanju is an ode to falling, rising, making mistakes and learning, flaws, imperfection — everything that defines the core of friendship. It is more importantly a relentless pursuit of life with all its shades. I know I share this sentiment with all friends and family close to him.”
