The trailer of Abhishek Saha’s debut film Uronchondi was launched yesterday (6 July). Presented by Prasenjit Chatterjee’s nIdeas Creations and Productions, the trailer features lead actresses Sudipta Chakraborty, Chitra Sen, Rajnandini Pal and actor Amartya Ray.

Touted as the first Bengali road movie, Uronchondi tells the story of three women, who, in order to save themselves from the atrocities at home, escape in a lorry. However, it turns out the roads are also not safe for them. The only man who tries to see the world with their perspective is the lorry's driver.

While the world remains dangerous, the women don't shy away from having some fun. Bindi, played by Chakraborty, drinks and dances to her heart's content, but at the end, the abused woman realises she cannot not be a man no matter how she tries to be one.

At the same time romance blossoms between Meenu (Pal) and Chotu (Ray). Sabitri (Sen), on the other hand, only looks for respite at the dusk of her life.

Going by the trailer, all the characters appear extremely strong and portray different emotions — anger, hope and gentleness.

The music of the film has been composed by Debajyoti Mishra and the cinematography is done by Soumik Haldar.
