Box office: Sanju holds well on second Friday, set for a good weekend

With no new Hindi film release on Friday, 6 June, and Race 3 (2018) collections coming almost to a complete halt, director Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju managed to make the most of its second Friday at the box office. The film held its own as it made Rs12.50 crore nett on its eighth day since release, taking its total domestic collections to Rs212.58 crores approximately, as per Boxofficeindia.com.
Made at a budget of around Rs100, the Ranbir Kapoor-Vicky Kaushal starrer managed to cross the Rs200 mark in just one week. With that, the film beat the first week collections of Aamir Khan’s Dangal (2016) that made Rs192.38 crore nett and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) which earned Rs183.52 crore nett.

Sanju, which is a biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt, also became Kapoor's first Rs200 crore film. Before this, his highest-grossing film was Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) that had made a total of Rs177.99 crore nett.
What other records the film breaks will be determined by how much the collections can jump in its second weekend.
