Eros International, Aanand L Rai, Sohum Shah to co-produce Tumbbad

Eros International, producer-director Aanand L Rai and actor-producer Sohum Shah have come together for a fantasy epic drama, titled Tumbbad. The film is to be directed by first time director Rahi Anil Barve. 

The makers today unveiled the motion teaser.  It is a teaser in true sense and all that you see is a man standing in front of a giant idol. 

While not much is known about the film's subject, the project seems to have taken a while to materialise. 

"Making Tumbbad has been a six-year long rollercoaster of a ride. Aanand ji’s has only brought more energy and enthusiasm in me. You feel at home when you are with him because he speaks from his heart. He and his team has given Tumbbad love and care just like a family," Shah said in an official statement. Shah is one of the actors in the film and has also co-written the script with filmmaker Anand Gandhi.

"Very excited to release Tumbaad this year. Other than the great storytelling, Tumbbad is an audio-visual experience on the big screen. Personally, I feel it’s a genre-defining film for our audience," Rai said in a statement.

The film holds the promise of being a visual treat with the makers hiring the services of international production firm Filmgate Films from Sweden, who specialise in visual effects. 

More details, like the other cast members, will be unveiled soon. The film is set to be released on 12 October.
