As the debate over remixes rages on, another one has hit the screen. Milap Zaveri's upcoming, Satyameva Jayate, starring John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee, will also feature a chartbuster from Sirf Tum (1999) — 'Dilbar Dilbar'. The remix composed by Tanishk Bagchi is featured on Nora Fatehi, with John's angry anti-hero making an appearance.
The song, visually, has been shot aesthetically and seems to be another cabaret number in an action thriller. Fatehi sizzles as the belly dancer. The actress, who trained in the dance form, specifically for the song, under Turkish belly dancer Didem, seems to have got her moves right. While imbibing Sushmita Sen's charisma and subtle seduction from the original is not easy, Fatehi does manage to do a good job.

Bagchi's composition captures the basic structure of the original but overlays it with an entirely new style. Using a very Arabic template, the composer has added multiple layers that create a diverse sound for the reboot. Although at times, the guitar, the synthesiser, and the percussion make the song feel like it is loaded with too many adornments.
Singers Neha Kakkar and Dhvani Bhanushali bring in some vivacity with their voices, but it is the lyrics that dampen the effort.
Lyricists Shabbir Ahmed and Ikka bring little to the composition with their words. Ikka's rap, though rhythmic, adds little to the entire composition.
There are enough screens for both films: John Abraham on Satyameva Jayate and Gold clash
Bagchi's composition has an eclectic feel to it, and might catch on after repeated hearings. Yet, it lacks the magic that the original had. Perhaps, that is a high task.
Satyameva Jayate is set to be released on 15 August 2018.
