After Kesari, Akshay Kumar has long been linked with another Dharma Productions project. Speaking to television journalist Rajeev Masand, Akshay spoke about his next film.
“I’m doing a film called Good News. It's completely different. It is a real incident, but it is very funny what happened,” Akshay told Masand.
According to a source, Good News is a Dharma Productions project and will be directed Raj Mehta, who has earlier been an assistant director on films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Kapoor & Sons (2016) and Aurangzeb (2013).
Reportedly, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has also been linked to the project. The source informed that actor Diljit Dosanjh has been roped in for the film too. “Kartik Aaryan was earlier approached for the same film but his pricey demands cost him the film, Dharma [Productions] has now got Diljit Dosanjh on board. The film is said to be about a true incident, pertaining to surrogacy. The film will go on floors in November,” the source added.
However, Dosanjh’s manager refused to confirm the development. We also tried contacting Mehta, but the calls went unanswered.
Akshay has currently wrapped up the first schedule of Housefull 4 and is expected to complete the film in a couple of months. Kapoor Khan's last film, Veere Di Wedding (2018), did considerably well at the box office, earning over Rs80 crore nett in India.
Kapoor Khan and Akshay were last seen together onscreen in Gabbar Is Back (2015) and Kambakkht Ishq (2009).
