51 years after the military clashes between India and China, filmmaker JP Dutta's feature film, Paltan, will give a fictional and human account of the events. The countries had two confrontations at the Sikkim border in September-October 1967, popularly known as the Nathu La and Cho La clashes.
In the run up towards its release on 7 September, the makers of the war film have released looks of its key cast members. First up is veteran actor Jackie Shroff who has previously worked with Dutta on films like Border (1997) and Refugee (2000).
Shroff's character poster shows him geared up to join the youngsters in a wool jacket. Earlier in the day, another poster of the actor where he looks visibly older was released and then taken down.
Paltan was shot extensively in Ladakh where the Nathu La pass was recreated for the film.
