A sequel to the comedy-horror hit Dhilluku Dhuddu (2016) is in the works, and it will revolve around the female lead, a film industry source has revealed.
"A new girl from Kerala named Shritha Sivadas has been finalized to play the female lead in the sequel," the source said. "This film, too, will be a horror comedy. The reason the team cast Shritha is because the script required a Malayalam-speaking girl and she fit the bill perfectly."
Dhilluku Dhuddu had Anchal Singh as its female lead.
Director Rambhala, who directed the first part, is directing the sequel as well, while actor-comedian Santhanam will play the male lead again.
Deepak Kumar Padhy, who was the cinematographer of Dhilluku Dhuddu, will handle the camera for the sequel as well. The film's music is being scored by Shabir while Madhavan has been named the editor.
The second part, too, will have members of the popular television reality show, Lollu Sabha. Apart from them, the film will feature comedians Motta Rajendran, Urvashi, Bipin of Jil Jung Juk (2016) fame, Ramar and Dhanasekar from the television comedy competition series Kalakapovathu Yaaru, and Ayyappa Baiju, a well known stand-up comedian from Kerala.
The source said the team intends to release the sequel in September this year.
