Director Radha Mohan's Kaatrin Mozhi, a Tamil remake of Suresh Triveni's hit Hindi film Tumhari Sulu (2017), will be released on 18 October.

The film's team made an official announcement after the Tamil Film Producers' Council agreed on the date.

Sources in the industry say the decision to release the film on 18 October is wise as it falls in a holiday weekend and also marks actress Jyotika Sadana's birthday.

The film also stars Vidarth and Telugu actress Lakshmi Manchu. Kaatrin Mozhi narrates the story of a housewife who becomes a radio jockey on a late night show. Although the essence of the original story has been retained, makers of Kaatrin Mozhi have made minor changes in the remake to suit the taste of the south Indian audiences.

Sources close to the unit of the film say that Jyotika's husband, actor Suriya, is extremely happy that the film will be released on Jyotika's birthday.

It was recently reported that Jyotika completed shooting for the film in one schedule. Reportedly, pleased by the film's crew, the actress had distributed gifts to each member of the unit on the last day of shoot.
