Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se (2018) was all set to clash with the Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold (2018) and John Abraham-starrer Satyameva Jayate (2018) on 15 August. However, the makers of the film have shifted the release date to 31 August. The film features Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Dharmendra.

In an official statement, Sunny said that they wish to avoid the clash on Independence Day. He added that they don’t wish to release the film the following week on 24 August either to avoid clash with Genius (2018), for personal reasons.

“Since Aug 15th has two patriotic films Gold and Satyameva Jayate which are topical for the day and on 24th we have our family friend Anil Sharma’s son (Utkarsh Sharma) being launched who has our blessings. Our film is a wholesome family entertainer hence we have decided to release our film YPD Phir Se two weeks later on 31st August 2018 [sic],” he said.

Last week, during the trailer launch of Satyameva Jayate, co-producer Nikkhil Advani was asked if he was thinking of shifting the release date of his film because of the three-way clash. He had denied saying, “We are coming on the 15th [August]. I don’t know anything else.”

But the shift in release date now means that Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se (2018) will be clashing with Stree (2018), Andhadhun (2018) and Rajma Chawal (2018).
