Helicopter Eela, which was scheduled to be released on 14 September, will now be out in theatres a week early, on 7 September. Kajol, who stars in the film, and husband and producer Ajay Devgn shared the news on their official Twitter pages.
“Eela coming your way a week early! #HelicopterEela releasing 7th Sept,” said Devgn. Kajol looked at the funny side of it and wrote, “Fooled you... coming on 7th September now #MomsRock.”
With the change in the release date, Helicopter Eela will clash with JP Dutta’s war saga Paltan and Imtiaz Ali’s production Laila Majnu. The film was earlier clashing with Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon-starrer Arjun Patiala, and Jaideep Ahlawat and Kunaal Roy Kapoor-starrer Hotel Milan.
Helicopter Eela is directed by Pradeep Sarkar, who is known for Parineeta (2005). His last film was the successful and acclaimed Mardaani (2014), that saw actress Rani Mukerji play the role of a tough cop.
Helicopter Eela will see known Bengali actors Riddhi Sen and Tota Roy Chowdhury in pivotal roles, along with Neha Dhupia and Atul Kulkarni. Helicopter Eela is co-produced by Jayantilal Gada of Pen movies.
