Filmmaker Abhinay Deo's dark comedy Blackmail (2018), starring Irrfan Khan and Kirti Kulhari, released in April this year. Now, the director has begun work on three different projects in three different genres - an action comedy, a biopic and a drama.

The director is known for his films like Delhi Belly (2011) and Force 2 (2016). Abhinay revealed that one of the films will be a docu-fictional project called Doosra, set in the sport of cricket. For this, he plans to research and talk to the former skippers of England, Australia and India.

“While I work on my docu-fictional movie Doosra, I am also looking into an action-comedy film. I have explored the comedy space twice with black comedy films like Delhi Belly and Blackmail so this time around I want to explore the action-comedy space. I find it exciting to shift genres and make films that make me grow as a filmmaker. I like to keep pushing my boundaries each time with every film," he said.

Son of veteran actor Ramesh Deo and brother to actor Ajinkya Deo, Abhinay made his film debut with Love Game (2009) and has also directed two seasons of the Indian remake of the American television series 24, starring Anil Kapoor.
