Ranveer Singh has a surprise appearance in Ali Zafar's Teefa In Trouble

Actor Ranveer Singh's friendships go a long way. Even across the border in the case of actor-singer Ali Zafar. The Padmaavat (2018) actor reportedly makes an appearance in Zafar's film, Teefa In Trouble. The film premiered in Karachi on Friday (20 July) and has received some notice despite the protests that followed Zafar during the film's promotions.

A key plot point of the film is that Teefa (Zafar's character in the film) dreams of owning a tikka restaurant. After all the trouble that he goes through in the film, Teefa finally achieves his dream. To boot, he gets Ranveer Singh as the brand ambassador of his tikkas. The film reportedly closes on a shot of a massive billboard which features Singh eating the tikkas.

Singh and Zafar shared screen space in Shaad Ali's Kill Dil (2014), and have been good friends ever since. While Singh does not have any cameo in the film, his presence on the billboard was the result of a request from Zafar.

Speaking to the online website, Somethinghaute.com, Zafar said, "I told him I wanted a picture of him eating a tikka for that sequence and he said that was no issue. He took a picture and sent to me."

As for Zafar, the release of the film comes as a relief after the actor was accused of sexual harassment by several Pakistani actresses. After singer-actress Meesha Shafi revealed on Twitter her experience at the hands of Zafar, two more women came forward with similar stories. Shafi even sent the actor a legal notice, upon which he threatened her with a Rs100 crore defamation suit.

The controversy has dogged Zafar through the promotions of the film. During an event in Karachi, the actor was hounded by protestors carrying placards.

In this scenario, Singh's support might have come across as a comfort for the actor.
