After a fairly long break, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim are set to return to their shooting ways. The actors were spotted at Mehboob Studio in Bandra to start prepping for Shonali Bose's The Sky is Pink. The film is written by Juhi Chaturvedi, and will be produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur's Roy Kapur Films.
In his post on Instagram, Akhtar thanked Bose for 'trusting me with this beautiful story'.
The film is reportedly based on the late Aisha Chaudhary, author of My Little Epiphanies. The 19-year-old passed away in 2015 after suffering from pulmonary fibrosis. Chaudhary was diagnosed with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID), forcing her to undergo a bone marrow transplant at the age of 6. Chaudhary was also a motivational speaker, and often spoke about her battle with the disease.
Bose's film will reportedly have Akhtar and Chopra playing parents to the young Wasim's character. While there were reports of Abhishek Bachchan taking on the role alongside Chopra, nothing was finalised. It now looks like the role has gone to Akhtar. The actor-director has been involved as producer for the film, Gold, which will be released on 15 August.
The film is set to go on the floors on 8 August, and the actors made a visit to Roy Kapur Films office before starting the preparation work on the script. The Sky Is Pink is produced by Roy Kapur films, and co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP films.
The official handle of Roy Kapur Films was quick to post pictures of the three actors arriving to begin work on the project.
Apart from The Sky Is Pink, Chopra is also set to begin shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat, alongside Salman Khan.
