Director of the upcoming film Karwaan, Akarsh Khurana, said actor Irrfan Khan is positive and sounding good. The actor is currently undergoing treatment in London for a neuroendocrine tumour.
Khan recently watched the film in London with his family. Besides Khan, Karwaan also stars Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar.
“It’s not something that we asked him. He spoke to me after watching the film. He was sounding good. That’s a good sign that he is going to get better. Hussain [Dalal, writer] was in London at the screening and he met him and said that he was looking better as well. He is being optimistic and brave and I think you should allow someone to [recuperate],” said Khurana.
On Khan's reaction after watching the film, Khurana said, “He saw the film with his family and he was very happy. Hussain said that the family also really enjoyed it. He [Khan] spoke with me and he said that the film has shaped up very well. He was very happy with the music of the film. So, it was a good positive relief. Right now his approval and blessings are very important.”
When asked if Khan had shown any signs of being ill during the shoot of the film, Khurana was quick to say, “No, actually he was absolutely fine and fit. There was no problem whatsoever. We finished shooting in October. He was diagnosed this year. Before he was diagnosed, he even saw the edit of the film. We were all very shocked because there were no signs whatsoever. In fact, he was in very good spirits during the shoot.”
The director further added that the actor did his own stunts. “We actually had a duplicate ready because he was supposed to hang off the car and then get in from the Nano’s window. He saw the rehearsals thrice and told the action director that he wants to do it. He did and got it right in the second take. It saved us one day of shoot. That’s why all of us were even more shocked,” Khurana added.
Karwaan is all set to be released on 3 August.
