Aamir Khan to be chief guest at 5th Indian Screenwriters' Conference 

The event will be held in Mumbai from 1 to 3 August.

Actor Aamir Khan will be the chief guest at the fifth Indian Screenwriters' Conference (ISC) which will be held in Mumbai from 1 to 3 August at St. Andrews Auditorium in Bandra. It’s an annual event organized by the Screenwriters Association which also includes panel discussions related to screenwriting.

Padma Shri veteran journalist Vinod Dua will deliver the keynote address at the inauguration. The theme for this year is ‘When The Mind Is Without Fear.’ It will focus on the challenges faced by Indian screenwriters currently.

Other prominent people to grace the conference include filmmakers, Amit Masurkar, Ravi Jadhav, Rima Das and Vetri Maaran, writers Anjum Rajabali and Shridhar Raghavan, producer Sidharth Roy Kapoor, lyricist and actor Swanand Kirkire, actor and writer Sumeet Vyas and Smita Singh one of the writers of Sacred Games.

“The conference is expected to see a large number of screenwriters and established professionals from the film and TV industries, as well as the digital media. It will also provide a platform for networking to all its participants,” said an excerpt from the press release of the conference.

The first Indian Screenwriters' Conference was held at the FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) in Pune in 2006.
