In the nearly four-minute preview, Koechlin says, "If you are young and Indian and alive right now in the 21st century, then this is your podcast. And even if you [are] not so young or so Indian, if you want to hear some really incredible stories, this is still your podcast. Most of all, My Indian Life is about great, compelling, fascinating stories from all around India."
The podcast will feature young men and women from the country and explore taboo subjects from sexual abuse to caste discrimination. The series, which begins on 4 August 2018, will have 10 episodes; it's the first time BBC has created a podcast with an Indian audience in mind.
Koechlin also states why she felt the need to do the podcast. "For me, it's a completely new world. I have been so enriched by talking to some of these people. I get to understand my own country so much better," she said.
She also invited the listening audiences to subscribe and give feedback to the show which might be used in future episodes.
Koechlin, who will next be seen in the upcoming films, Scholarship (2018), Haathi Mere Saathi and Gully Boy (2019), previously helmed the travel show, Kalki's Great Escape for the television channel Fox Life in September 2016. She and her father, Joel Koechlin, travelled through northeast India by motorbike.
