Mulk motion poster: Prateik Babbar has a touch of Kasab in Anubhav Sinha's film

Armed with a gun and a blue backpack, Prateik Babbar, is front and centre in the latest motion poster for Mulk. Anubhav Sinha's film is based on true incidents and captures the tale of a family fighting for their own identity and survival against the odds. However, Babbar's latest appearance has a touch of realism that is too close for comfort. 

The lines for the poster establish an immediate connect as he compares himself as the opposite of Olympic gold medallist Mohammed Shahid. Shahid won the gold for India at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. 

Babbar, in the dialogue says, "Where Mohammed Shahid won the gold for India at the Moscow Olympics, I am set to take the life of innocents after training in bombs. Why?" 

The actor's appearance, with the blue backpack, also resembles the dreaded Ajmal Kasab. As a 25-year old, Kasab led the terrorists on the infamous 2008 Mumbai attacks which resulted in the death of 168 people and left the city and nation scarred forever. 

The question of what drives a normal young man to terrorism seems to be the question director Sinha's film seeks to answer. Where the teaser revolved around Rishi Kapoor's character fighting to clear his name, the motion poster sets the tone for the event that will bring the film's climactic question to the fore. 

The film will be released on 3 August.
