Actress Bhumi Pednekar received quite a 'starry' gift on turning 29 on Wednesday (18 July). The actress' team presented her with a star registered in her name. A part of the constellation Andromeda, the star is titled 'The Bhumi Star' and registered in the name of the Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017) actress.

The Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) actress uploaded a picture of the certificate of registration she received, along with heartfelt thanks to her team.

"I am a STAR...and only cause of all the love you guys give me," Pednekar wrote.

In doing so, the actress joins the elite company of Winona Ryder, Nicole Kidman, Princess Diana and others who bought and registered stars in their name. More recently, Pednekar's Sonchiriya co-star Sushant Singh Rajput purchased a plot of land on the moon in his name.

While it has no legal standing, the registration is a commonly considered gesture by family and friends to their loved ones. The International Astronomical Union and NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) do not recognise private deeds for naming stars. However, it is a nice gesture and quite a popular act across the world.

Pednekar was last seen in the digital anthology, Lust Stories.
