Kartik Subbaraj's untitled project is gaining more momentum with every passing day. The film now has two more additions to the cast in the form of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Simran. While Simran is a known face in Tamil cinema, the project will mark Siddiqui's first foray into the industry. It will also be the first time the Sacred Games actor will share screen space with Rajinikanth. The announcement was made on Wednesday by the production house, Sun Pictures.

Siddiqui is not the only high profile addition to the cast. The film already has Vijay Sethupathi cast opposite Rajinikanth. The first schedule of the film began in July with the veteran actor in Darjeeling.
The film will mark the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and Siddiqui, as well as Simran. This is the second such Tamil film with a high profile actor from the Hindi film industry this year, after Akshay Kumar's presence in Shankar's 2.0 (2018).
Rajinikanth was last seen in Pa Ranjith's Kaala (2018) which was critically and commercially acclaimed. Karthik last directed the silent thriller, Mercury (2018) starring Prabhudeva.
