Veteran actress Sridevi passed away while her daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, was shooting her debut film, Dhadak along with Ishaan Khatter. Kapoor's co-star Shridhar Watsar, who plays one of Khatter's friends in the film, commended her spirit.
Sridevi passed away on 24 February 2018 due to accidental drowning in Dubai.
The actor informs that the film's team was shocked to hear of Sridevi's passing. “Even we were shocked by it [Sridevi’s death]. We thought it [Jahnvi Kapoor] would obviously take time and she even deserved some time off,” Watsar told us in an interview.
But to everyone's surprise, Kapoor returned to the film's set a few days after her mother's demise.
“When someone so close to you passes away, he or she needs some time to come out of it. But Janhvi showed such great professionalism. She was back after just eight-nine days and completed the film,” he said.
Watsar also pointed out that Sridevi had guided Janhvi for her big debut. “Maybe this was Sri ji’s wish because she had helped her a lot in her characterization. She was involved and attached to this project. Maybe that’s why Janhvi was ready to complete the film,” Watsar added.
While commenting on Janhvi’s work, Watsar said, “I found her very confident.”
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak will hit the screens tomorrow (20 July).
