Actor Vicky Kaushal, who had a pivotal role in Rajkumar Hirani's latest superhit Sanju and is currently shooting for Uri in Serbia, eastern Europe, injured his right arm last week while performing an action sequence.

Despite the injury, Kaushal has resumed working after a short break during which he returned to Mumbai for a couple of days, according to the film's makers.

An official statement issued by the producers said Kaushal was required to pull off some daredevil sequences and injured his right arm.

“The doctors said it was due to muscle inflammation and overexertion," a source said. "He has been undergoing daily physiotherapy sessions. However, Vicky has resumed shooting in Serbia. The team has planned the schedule in such a way that the injury isn’t aggravated.”

Kaushal is currently enjoying critical and audience acclaim for his act as Sanjay Dutt's friend Kamlesh aka Kamli in the biopic Sanju.

Uri is based on the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian army in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the Uri attacks of 29 September 2016.

Also starring Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari and Mohit Raina, Uri is produced by Ronnie Screwvala's company.

The film is being directed by first-time director Aditya Dhar, who earlier wrote for Priyadarshan’s movies Aakrosh (2010) and Tezz (2012). He has also written a few songs.
