Sachin Kundalkar’s Pondicherry to be completely shot on smart phone


The film will star Sai Tamhankar and Vaibhav Tatwawaadi.

After the success of Gulabjaam earlier this year, director Sachin Kundalkar’s next film will be shot in an unusual way — on a smart phone. Titled Pondicherry, the film will star Sai Tamhankar and Vaibhav Tatwawaadi.

Kundalkar shared the news on Facebook and informed that he is currently on film’s recce. “Pondicherry, a Marathi feature film that would be shot entirely on the camera of the smartphone. The initial process of the film has begun excitedly. Welcoming two favourite and talented stars on board who decided to take up the challenge of being a part of this unique project,” he wrote.

The recce docket features a cycle rickshaw with a yellow building in the background. The instantly remind one of the streets of Pondicherry.

Reportedly, Kundalkar has co-written the film with Tejas Modak, who was also a writer on Gulabjaam. Modak even penned the lyrics for Kundalkar’s Rajwade And Sons (2015) and Happy Journey (2014).

Anjali Menon's Malayalam film Koode released on 6 July. The film is an adaptation of Kundalkar's Happy Journey, which starred Atul Kulkarni, Priya Bapat and Pallavi Subhash.
