Sanjay Dutt is enjoying his moment in the sun. Post the success of his biopic, Sanju (2018), featuring actor Ranbir Kapoor, Dutt will release his autobiography through publishers Harper Collins. Now, Baba, as he is fondly called, has his own theme song.
The 'Baba Theme' is from the upcoming film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 (2018). It appears as though Dutt's character will be referred to as Baba in the film.
The track gives you an insight into the character of Dutt. For a gangster, this Baba is more suave, though we do see what he can do in a fit of rage.
The song divided into two parts — soft pop and rap. Revant Shergill has penned and crooned the former, while rapper Dhaval Parab, better known as D’evil, takes care of the rap portion. The music has been scored by Siddharth Pandit.
The lyrics by Shergill are fairly decent, and his singing is fine too. However, the track truly belongs to D’evil. Usually, it’s rap music that tends to break the rhythm as seen in the countless remakes in the last few years. 'Baba Theme' is not a brilliant track per se, but it has a nice vibe to it. The rap really lifts the track.
There is more than swag to Baba here. We see him share intimate moments with the Biwi (played by Mahie Gill) and also moments of power, where he seems to be a master of daring acts.
'Baba Theme' is all about Dutt's character, but it's hard to take your eyes off the leading ladies — Gill and Chitrangda Singh.
Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 will be out in theatres on 27 July.
