It is literally back to school for actor Ali Fazal. The actor, who recently joined the cast of Prassthaanam (2019) for their shoot in the city of Lucknow had a pleasant memory to add to his travels. One part of Deva Katta's film is set to be shot at the city's prestigious La Martiniere College, which is also Fazal's alma mater.
The actor shot a song with actress Amyra Dastur in the building that was his old school. The film also features Sanjay Dutt and Satyajeet Dubey, it is directed by the Indian-American director, Deva Katta. Not only did the actor shake a leg in the classrooms that he sat in, but also had the privilege of meeting the teachers and staff members who moulded him into the man he is today.
Fazal was among the several Indian names who were appointed to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences as a member of the latest class of 2018. The actor was named along with Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah and Soumitra Chatterjee on the roster.
With Prassthaanam, the actor is enjoying a trip down memory lane working with Dutt, and close friend, Dubey on the film. Speaking of returning to school for the film, Fazal said, "Going back to school was a flood of emotions. For anyone, their school and any educational system will bring back millions of memories. And to now go there as a working individual and to shoot there for a film is almost unreal. It was a great experience, the school hasn’t changed at all. I loved every bit of La Martiniere, the royal structure, the teachers, the culture it represented."
The film is currently under shoot, and will be out in theatres in 2019.
