There are always takers for a good murder mystery.

The innovative title, Vodka Diaries, adds to the excitement for talented actor Kay Kay Menon's next film. The teaser for Vodka Diaries was fairly impressive, and the makers have now unveiled an equally impressive trailer.

A killer is on the loose. Looks like he/she has kidnapped ACP Dixit’s (Menon) wife Shikha (Mandira Bedi). In addition to the suspense, the film also has the feels of a psychological drama.

So who really is Roshni Banerjee (Raima Sen)? Is she the source or is she also party to the crimes taking place? Who are the four people killed in one night?

Director Kushal Srivastava scores by packing a gripping, thrilling trailer that teases you, but doesn’t reveal too much. The final image of an intense, dangerous looking ACP Dixit also leads you to believe that there is more to this murder mystery than meets the eye. Could Dixit himself be the architect of the murder mysteries?

While the trailer scores for its suspense element, the icy locales makes Vodka Diaries smack of melodrama. Menon appears to be going a bit over-the-top. Let’s hope the melodrama is kept to a bare minimum in the film, which will be released on 19 January.
