With hardly any competition from the time it released on 22 December 2017, Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai has been going great guns at the box office. It became the second Salman film after Sultan (2016) to cross the Rs300-crore nett mark in its India business.
The action thriller bagged an impressive Rs17.75 crore nett in its third weekend to take its overall domestic nett total so far to Rs309.04 crore nett, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Sultan (2016), another Yash Raj Films' project had bagged just over Rs300 crore nett in India. Made at an estimated budget of Rs150 crore, Tiger Zinda Hai had released across 4,600 screens in India.
The next challenge for Tiger Zinda Hai is to surpass the business of Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015). The film, directed by Kabir Khan, had bagged Rs315.49 crore nett in its domestic business. If it does so, then Tiger Zinda Hai will become the most successful Salman film.
While Tiger Zinda Hai could surpass Bajrangi Bhaijaan's business, it’s a long way from Aamir Khan’s PK (2014) that earned Rs337.72 crore nett. Aamir's Dangal (2016) set the record for the highest earning Hindi film in India with a staggering Rs374.53 crore nett.
Come this Friday (12 January), Tiger Zinda Hai is bound to lose screens as three Hindi films are slated to be released. Cinestaan Film Company’s Kaalakaandi starring Saif Ali Khan is one the bigger films set to be released on 12 January. The others include director Anurag Kashyap’s boxing drama Mukkabaaz and Vikram Bhatt’s horror film 1921.
