As the title indicates, Hostel Days focuses on the life of a group of students in a hostel. The trailer reveals that the film, directed by Ajay Naik, is also a love triangle.
The story starts in the 1990s and revolves around a group of college students, lead by Prarthana Behere, Aroh Welankar, Virajas Kulkarni, and Akshay Tanksale. Their life is a mixture of studies and fun.
The film seems to be targeted at the younger set and, going by the trailer, does seem to have all the masala needed for a college campus drama. However, the trailer isn't edited well and fails to affect the viewer.
One can’t help but notice similarities with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year (2012). Additionally, college sagas have been done aplenty and there is not much novelty left in the area.
The casting of Behere, Welankar and Kulkarni looks perfect. Kulkarni, who is making his film debut, is the son of actress Mrinal Kulkarni.
Well-known filmmaker Sanjay Jadhav, whose directorial Ye Re Ye Re Paisa was released yesterday, is also part of the cast.
