Veerey Ki Wedding to be released before Veerey Di Wedding

Veerey Ki Wedding will be released before Veerey Di Wedding. Confused? It's well-known that Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar are currently shooting for Veerey Di Wedding, which is directed by Shashanka Ghosh.

But before that film is completed, another film titled Veerey Ki Wedding will be released on 9 March. Directed by Ashu Trikha, the film stars Pulkit Samrat, Jimmy Shergill, Kriti Kharbanda, Satish Kaushik, Supriya Karnik, Rajesh Bakshi and Yuvika Choudhary.

The similarity in the title had compelled Anil Kapoor, producer of Veerey Di Wedding, to drag the makers of Veerey Ki Wedding to court last May. He had alleged that the other party was gaining publicity by using a title similar to theirs.

However, the Bombay high court didn’t rule in the favour of Veerey Di Wedding. “The judge said he was not convinced by the argument. He did not find any misuse or deceit as alleged, given that the story and cast were different. We are waiting for the judgement copy,” director Trikha had said then.
