Director Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai has had an excellent second week at the Indian box office. The film, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, has made Rs85.50 crore in this period, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com. The film’s grand total now stands at a staggering Rs291.54 crore.
This has earned the film fourth place in the list of highest second week earnings of all time. The third spot is currently held by Salman’s own Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) with Rs86.28 crore. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is directed by Kabir Khan, who also directed Ek Tha Tiger (2012), which is the prequel to Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).

Usually, when a film earns big in the first week, it sees a big drop in the following week. But in the case of Tiger Zinda Hai, the drop has been only 58%. This is encouraging considering the film has already done good business in the first week.
Needless to say, the film is well on its way to earn Rs300 crore. Its performance in the third weekend will determine if it dethrones Salman’s highest grosser Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), which made Rs315 crore in India. The film is likely to cross the actor’s second highest score of Rs300.67 crore earned by Sultan (2016).
Tiger Zinda Hai's good run at the box office has ensured that not a single important film has been released today (5 January). There are no big films scheduled to be released in the next week either, which will help the Tiger roar louder.
