R Madhavan has long shouldered the burden of the 'chocolate boy', since his Hindi film debut in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001). Since then, the actor has evolved to carry a darker streak in recent films like Saala Khadoos (2016) and the Tamil hit, Vikram Vedha (2017). The actor's first Amazon Prime Series, Breathe, seems to carry the same streak of darkness and revolt.
The teaser of the actor playing a serial killer haunting the streets of Mumbai is surprisingly dark. It begins with the ominous warning that when a parent realizes his child's future is at stake, he can resort to any means.
The series will follow the tale of Madhavan's Danny, a loving father, whose life is turned upside down by the death of his little boy. He soon turns into a sadistic killer on an organ harvesting spree. Breathe will also star Amit Sadh, as the cop on the hunt of R Madhavan's killer. There is also Sapna Pabbi, who will play Sadh's wife in the show.
This is Amazon Prime's second major Indian show after the very successful Inside Edge.
The show is set to be streamed on the Amazon Prime platform from 26 January.
