Samir Soni has joined a long list of actors turning to direction with his upcoming film, My Birthday Song. The trailer of the film was released today, with Salman Khan doing the honours of tweeting about it.
The trailer begins by following the events of Rajeev Kaul's (Sanjay Suri) 40th birthday party. The after party for Rajeev includes an affair with Sandy (Nora Fatehi). The scenes are muddled as Rajeev wakes up with blood on his hands, and a dead Sandy. Except he has no recollection of the murder. The trailer takes another twist when he seems to be living the day again, where Sandy is alive too.
The trailer is filled with a number of red herrings, but does seem to be a little mixed-up.
Suri plays the man looking to make sense of this confusing, nightmarish situation. There is also Fatehi playing the mysterious woman in red, while Pitobash Tripathy makes an appearance as the strange, grim looking man who might know something more than he reveals.
Soni's directorial debut is set to be released on 19 January.
