Revealed! Diljit Dosanjh's look from Punjabi film set in World War I


Directed by Pankaj Batra, Sajjan Singh Ranroot is set to be released on 23 March.

Diljit Dosanjh has revealed his look in the upcoming Punjabi film Rangroot, that is supposedly based on World War I.

In the image Dosanjh is seen holding a rifle, dressed in a soldier's uniform. The story of the film has not been disclosed yet, but it will be clear once the trailer is launched on 6 February.

Directed by Pankaj Batra, Sajjan Singh Rangroot marks the acting debut of Punjabi singer Sunanda Sharma. The film is set to be released on 23 March.

Besides Dosanjh, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Randeep Hooda will be seen playing Sikh officer under the British Raj in their respective films. Devgn's Sons of Sardaar, Kumar's Kesari and Hooda's untitled film are all based on Havildar Ishar Singh.

Singh was the leader of a battalion with 21 Sikh soldiers under the British Raj. Their army post was attacked by 10,000 Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen on 12 September 1897. Under Singh's leadership, the soldiers fought the Afghan's until their last breath.
