Dunkirk director Christopher Nolan to visit India soon, writes Amitabh Bachchan

The writing muse seems to strike Amitabh Bachchan during the late hours of the day. On his blog, the veteran actor wrote about his musings on the changing of technology and tendency of humans to become more and more reliant on said innovations.

Bachchan wrote about the issue of technology in the movie business and how film is now making a comeback. He stated: GOD, though is keen to help the film world, film - the commodity which gave for the years and years of the existence of cinema its most valued raw stock, is making a comeback. It kind of defeats my earlier observation when I said why the Industry is called the Film Industry, when the use of film is no longer there, it is all digital, BUT NO, it is all about to change yet again. KODAK that largest name for film is coming back.

Furthermore, he went on to say that “many in the world of direction and production are finding values in the product done on film to be the more liked subject .. so like ‘DUNKIRK’ the film by that renowned Christopher Nolan uses only film for his pictures. DUNKIRK was not digital, it was film. And in a month or so the man himself, Mr Nolan is coming to India to inaugurate or at least lend support to a few matters.

Bachchan also took to Twitter to state the ‘breaking news’ that Kodak would be opening Mumbai facility in March 2018. American company Eastman Kodak filed for bankruptcy in January 2012, but emerged as a much smaller but profitable company by cashing in on patents.

It seems that Bachchan is in the know and the possibility of the Oscar-nominated director coming back to India is eagerly awaited. For now, the return to celluloid will be a welcome change to many traditional filmmakers.
