Ronnie Screwvala's Love Per Square Foot is perhaps the first Indian Netflix film to go straight into streaming. Directed by Anand Tiwari, and starring Vicky Kaushal and Angira Dhar, the film's trailer captures the journey of two youngsters in Mumbai trying to trick their way into owning a home.
The trailer is quirky, comic and hits all the right buttons. Vicky Kaushal plays Sanjay Chaturvedi, a youngster trying to move into his own house in Mumbai. It is when he meets Karina D'Souza (Angira Dhar) that they come up with a marriage of convenience to get a home loan.
What takes place is a comedy of errors as their relationships and perspectives of love and marriage come apart.
The film marks the directorial debut of Anand Tiwari, and is also Kaushal's first as a lead in a romantic comedy. With a cast that boasts of talents like Supriya Pathak, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Raghuvir Yadav, the film looks to tackle the very popular idea of space constraints for youngsters in Mumbai.
The film is set to be released on streaming on the apt date of Valentine's Day (14 February).
