It has been 17 years since actor R Madhavan and Saif Ali Khan faced off over Dia Mirza in Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001). The two actors have since branched off to carve their own niche in the industry. Now, they will team up together in a periodical to be directed by Navdeep Singh.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the film will be produced by Aanand L Rai's productions, and will go on the floors in February.

Reports suggest that Mukkabaaz (2018) heroine, Zoya Hussain, has also been cast as the female lead. Deepak Dobriyal also confirmed his participation in the film in a conversation with Cinestaan.com .

The report suggests that the film is set in Rajasthan, and will be shot extensively across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai. Director Singh has previously helmed the Anushka Sharma productions, Phillauri (2017) and NH10 (2015), as well as Manorama Six Feet Under (2007).

The two actors are expected to learn sword fighting and horse riding for the role. Khan and Madhavan have not shared the screen since the cult romance directed by Gautham Menon in 2001. While Madhavan has enjoyed a successful 2017 with Vikram Vedha, and the recent release of his Amazon Prime series, Breathe, Khan has had a mixed start to the year with Kaalakaandi (2018).

There has been no confirmation from the makers about the title of the film as yet.
