Anil Kapoor, daughter Sonam begin shooting for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s next

In 1994, Anil Kapoor had a dreamy pillow fight with himself as he lipsynced ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 1942: A Love Story. Now, 24 years on he will be part of a film called Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and will share screen space for the first time with real-life daughter Sonam Kapoor.

The film is directed by first-timer Shelly Chopra Dhar, who is Vidhu's sister. It also stars Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla in pivotal roles.

During the media interactions for Pad Man, Sonam had briefly mentioned about doing the Vidhu production Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, but did not reveal any other information.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the filming commencing from today.

Sources close to the film also confirmed that the shoot had begun from today. There was no word on whether Rajkummar was playing the lead or a supporting character. Rajkummar and Anil will also be seen in Fanne Khan (2018), directed by Atul Manjrekar.

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is the second of the three-film deal that Fox Star Studios has signed with Vidhu. The first one is the Sanjay Dutt biopic that will be released on 29 June. Details of the third film are yet to be announced.

Interestingly, this year Anil is also doing a film with real-life son Harshvardhan, who plays the lead in the Abhinav Bindra biopic.
