While women power is slowly growing in the Hindi film industry, the talk of sexual abuse still continues. Among the few women who have emerged at the top of the power pack is Ekta Kapoor. However, in a recent appearance on the news channel CNBC TV18, Kapoor admitted that even she had faced the problem of men crossing the line.

Speaking about the rumours of sexual harrassment in the industry, Kapoor confirmed that it can be true. She said, "Yes, it did happen and it was very shocking. People have crossed the line with me."

While she did not elaborate, the producer said, "I feel being a producer and so powerful, if it can happen to me, then it is not possible that it did not happen with other women."

The Western world went into shock after a number of high profile names like Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, and Woody Allen faced being blacklisted for incidents of abuse being reported against them. The backlash online led to the creation of the #MeToo movement, where women began to speak up against the nature and incidents of abuse happening in their industries.

Back home, actresses like Kalki Koechlin, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut have admitted that the problem is just as widespread in India. However, Kapoor suggested that more women needed to come forward and hold the accused responsible to truly find conclusion. She added that as a producer, and a fellow member, she 'is there for support.'
