Maddock Films's Dinesh Vijan confirms Hindi Medium 2 is on the cards

After the stupendous success of Hindi Medium, producers Maddock Films and T-Series are planning to produce Hindi Medium 2.

Hindi Medium was one of the most successful films of 2017, achieving both critical acclaim and audience appreciation. The film also bagged the Best Film award at the 63rd Filmfare Awards.

T-Series and Maddock Films have signed a multiple film deal, that also includes Arjun Patiala, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon. 

“It’s so encouraging to get this (The Best Film award from Filmfare) because it reinforces our long standing belief at Maddock Films that taking risks will finally pay off. With Hindi Medium, it’s great to see that after the dust settles, good content has emerged a winner. Bhushan and I share a productive partnership, especially when it comes to music, and we respect each other’s capabilities. But what excites me most is Maddock’s lineup for 2018.. it’s very exciting, promising and an exhilarating mix of diverse films.” Dinesh Vijan, Maddock Films founder, said in a statement. 

When Cinestaan.com contacted Vijan, he confirmed via a text message that Hindi Medium 2 is indeed on the cards. However, the producer just replied saying, "It's happening" and didn’t divulge more details about the film's story or cast. 

Cinestaan.com also contacted Saket Chaudhary, director of Hindi Medium, to ask if he was roped in to helm the sequel as well. However, he denied being a part of it.

T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar also seems to have enjoyed the "fruitful association" with Dinesh and his team. “When two like minded people join hands, it is an easy team to work with. When the people working on a project are passionate about their work and give their best it’s an easy boat to sail and when the industry appreciates this association it’s a cherry on the cake. Dinesh and his team are always conceptualizing unique content. Working on Hindi Medium together was a fruitful association. This has enabled us to want to work more and more together. Arjun Patiala is a film that will make you smile, laugh and crack up,” he said.

Meanwhile, their next project Arjun Patiala is set to hit the screens on 13 September.
