Priyanka Chopra's second Hollywood film, A Kid Like Jake (2018), has had a rousing world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, with a standing ovation for the cast and crew at the end of the film.

The actress flew back from New York city where she is shooting for the third season of her American television series, Quantico, to attend the premiere with her castmates, Jim Parsons, Claire Danes, Octavia Spencer (who was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in The Shape of Water) and child artiste Leo James Davis as Jake.

The film, dealing with a gender variant child about to join school, is already garnering positive reviews from those who attended the premiere. The viewers praised the emotional drama and its cast for their performances.

Filmmaker Michael Keene, who watched the film, praised the actress for her supporting role. He wrote on Twitter, "All the @priyankachopra fans will be happy to know that she is quite good in A Kid Like Jake. She's very much the supporting friend character, but she's a memorable and important element. The Priyanka Chopra invasion of Hollywood continues." She plays Amal, a fellow parent whose child befriends Jake.

A Kid Like Jake, directed by Silas Howard, is due to be released sometime this year. Chopra's TV show Quantico will have its mid-season premiere on 26 April 2018 on ABC.
