Actress Roja, who is now an MLA in the Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly representing the constitutency of Nagari, has filed a police complaint with the Madhapur police in Hyderabad, Telangana that her house in the city has been burgled.
The actress, who has a house in Chennai and Hyderabad each, had come down to Chennai along with her two children and husband RK Selvamani, who is a Tamil director, to spend a few days at her Chennai residence.
The family left for Hyderabad yesterday after their Pongal holidays. Sources close to the actress here say that when the family reached their house in Manikonda region of Hyderabad, they found the cupboards and lockers open.
The actress has told police officials in her complaint that jewels worth Rs10 lakh were missing from her home.
Sources close to the actress here say that she suspects her domestic helps. This is because the lockers have not been broken open, suggesting that someone from the inside could have played a part in the burglary.
The Madhapur police has registered a case an d isinvestigating the issue.
