Shah Rukh Khan has a million fans waiting outside his doorstep for a glimpse of him, but the actor himself was a little starstruck on his recent trip to Davos, Switzerland. Khan, who was awarded the Crystal Award, for his social initiatives at the ongoing World Economic Forum in Switzerland, took the opportunity to ask actress Cate Blanchett for a selfie.

"Before you leave, can we take a selfie?" quipped the actor to the amusement of Blanchett in the audience. Khan received the award along with Blanchett, and musician Sir Elton John at the event. He later added, "There, now I have embarassed my children."

Praising Blanchett as the "lady who commands the wind" and John as the man who "commands the song of a billion hearts, including mine", the Raees (2017) actor went on to explain the reasons and inspirations behind his social initiative, Meer Foundation, named after his father. Khan is the founder of the non-profit organisation that supports and helps victims of acid attacks.

The actor was presented the award for 'his leadership in championing children's and women's rights in India.'

Talking about his interaction with acid attack victims, Khan said, "In each of these women, I found within them the courage to move on with their lives and to reject the idea of victimhood."

Covering topics like privilege, power, and responsibility to break down barriers, Khan pointed to the example of his little son, AbRam. "I was sitting with my five-year-old son, and he told me 'Papa, can you get my eye out of my hair?' It is a little bit like that with power," he said. "We think things are getting in the way of power, but it is actually power getting in the way," Khan added.

A day ago, Khan had reached Davos and struck his signature pose. Posting the picture on his Twitter account, he wrote, "Switzerland main aake yeh na kiya toh kya kiya (What did you do in Switzerland if not this)...?! Loving being at the Davos, now to get ready for the Crystal Award Ceremony. #DavosDiaries.'

The actor is expected to return to India and resume shooting for Aanand L Rai's Zero.
