Confirmed! Mouni Roy to play antagonist in Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra

A source close to Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, has confirmed that television actress Mouni Roy has been roped in to play the antagonist in the film.

There were unconfirmed reports floating that the well-known television actress had been approached for Brahmastra.

“Yes, Mouni Roy is part of the Brahmastra cast. She will be playing the antagonist in the film,” the source told Cinestaan.com. However, the source refused to divulge details as they are being kept under wraps currently.

Brahmastra is a superhero film, and Roy's antagonist character could possibly create problems for the superhero character played by Kapoor.

Roy made her television debut with Ekta Kapoor’s hit series Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She joined the cast in 2007. She is also known for her role in the serial Naagin.

Before Brahmastra, she will be seen making her Hindi film debut in the Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold, which is directed by Reema Kagti. The film will be released on India’s Independence Day (15 August) this year.
