Shah Rukh Khan and Anurag Kashyap might not reside in the same dimensions of cinema, but the two share a common alumni. The director and the superstar both studied in Hansraj College in Delhi, and often have discussions on their film careers. In a recent interview to Hindustan Times, a daily, Kashyap said that he won't leave filmmaking till he "makes a film with Shah Rukh Khan".
"But we will work together. I won’t go anywhere without making a film with Shah Rukh Khan... I will write a film that will lure him. He should be attracted to it, he should be dying do the film," Kashyap said.
The director, whose Mukkabaaz released last Friday (12 January), also said he had approached the actor for No Smoking (2007) and for the unfinished Allwyn Kalicharan.
However, the role in the former went to John Abraham, while the latter film never made it out of the blocks. Kashyap was quoted saying, "He wanted to do No Smoking and he was very upset when I went away from him. I also went to him with Allwyn Kalicharan. I wanted to do that with him and a big superstar from Hollywood. Everything was almost done but then again (it didn’t happen)."
The director also mentioned that the senior actor has been an inspiration and constant source of ideas for him.
While they might not share the same idea of romance, Kashyap and Shah Rukh Khan will certainly make for an interesting combination for a film.
