The teaser of director Magizh Thirumeni’s upcoming crime thriller, Thadam, was released on social media by the film’s hero, Arun Vijay, on the day of Pongal, the harvest festival in Tamil Nadu.
Magizh Thirumeni, who was an assistant to ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon, delivered a super hit called Thadaiyara Thaaka the last time he teamed up with Arun Vijay.
Therefore, expectations from Thadam were high even before the release of the teaser. Now, with the release of the slick teaser, those expectations have gone up.
The teaser, which is a minute and 48 seconds long, has the investigating officers talking about how they solved a singularly difficult case known as the Aakash case.
The movie is based on real-life incidents and has Arun Vijay playing a police inspector. Thadam also features Tanya Hope, Smruthi Venkat and Vidya Pradeep.
Thadam means evidence and the teaser reinforces the significance of evidence in tracking down a criminal. In fact, one of the investigating officers is seen saying in the teaser, “No matter how intelligent a criminal is, he is bound to leave some evidence behind at the scene of a crime. That evidence usually will be before our eyes. It just wouldn’t have occurred to us that this is evidence.”
Music for the film has been scored by Arun Raj while Gopinath has cranked the camera for the film.
