Pad Man song: Akshay Kumar chases his 'Saale Sapne' in this pleasing peppy new track

Peppy, inspiring, the new song from Pad Man is sung by Mohit Chauhan and composed by Amit Trivedi.

Pad Man has been built up on the foundation of its real life social drama, but the music of the film is turning out to be just as enjoyable. The latest song, 'Saale Sapne', captures the drive, innovation, and burning ambition of the entrepreneurs to whom director R Balki's film pays tribute.

The song captures Akshay Kumar's character at work. As he seeks to build an economic, hygienic alternative to the expensive sanitary pads in the market, the character has to face several failures. From broken machinery to injuries, he transcends them through some innovative ideas that arrive from the simplest of things. The drive to go through all this come from his dreams.

These dreams form the crux of Amit Trivedi's composition. Peppy, positive and very hummable, the track has a very modern pop infusion that is different from the earlier tracks of 'Aaj Se Teri' or 'Hu Ba Hu'. Mohit Chauhan provides the vocals for the track, and justifies his choice by delivering another wonderfully memorable song to his name.

The lyrics by Kausar Munir build a wonderful world that paints dreams as the 'saale' (rogue) that doesn't let people sleep, forcing them to tirelessly pursue them till the end.

Pad Man also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor among others. The film is set to be released on 25 January.
