Director-producer Bala’s B Studios, in a tweet, also informed that Dr P Kalidas’s Madhumathi Films has acquired the film’s theatrical rights for Tamil Nadu.

The team of director Bala’s eagerly awaited film, Naachiyaar, starring Jyotika Sadana and GV Prakash Kumar, has announced that the film will be released on 9 February.
A source from the film's unit said the film is ready and has recieved approval from the Central Board of Film Certification.
Naachiyaar, which has music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by Theni Eashwar, has been in the news ever since the the film was first announced.
However, the teaser of the film, released a few months ago, faced strong criticism on social media as the actress was seen using a few expletives in the video. In her defence, Jyotika maintained her stand saying the crticism would come to an end after the people watch the film.
Now, with the unit officially announcing that the film's release date, fans and cinephiles are eager to know the context in which the actress uses the expletives in the film.
