Rakesh Roshan announces next film in Krrish series on son Hrithik’s birthday

Fans of actor Hrithik Roshan got a special birthday surprise from the actor’s father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, as he announced the next film in the Krrish franchise which will be released on Christmas 2020. Hrithik turned 44 today.

Rakesh took to Twitter to make the announcement and stated, “Today is perhaps the best day to make the release day of Krrish 4 official. Christmas 2020 it is. A gift for all of you on Hrithik’s birthday. Happy birthday @iHrithik”.

Hrithik retweeted his father’s announcement, but didn’t add any new information about the film or its cast. He played dual role in the previous two instalments as father Rohit Mehra and his son and alter ego, Krishna aka Krrish. Priyanka Chopra played Krishna’s wife Priya, while Rekha played his grandmother, Sonia Mehra.

Rakesh first began the sci-fi franchise in 2003 with Koi... Mil Gaya starring Hrithik and Preity Zinta. Hrithik played the developmentally-challenged Rohit Mehra who meets a friendly alien, Jadoo, and develops special abilities. The Roshans later produced Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013). Hrithik’s fans have been awaiting another film in the series ever since.
