Shah Rukh Khan’s film with director Aanand L Rai finally has a title — Zero.
The title and a sneak peek at the film, in which the actor will be seen playing a dwarf, were released today.
The video shows a mid-sized Shah Rukh Khan dancing to Shashi Kapoor’s fun romantic number, ‘Humko Tumpe Pyar Aaya’ from Suraj Prakash’s film Jab Jab Phool Khile (1965).
In a way, this is yet another film to feature an old classic song, following in the footsteps of Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) with 'Tamma Tamma Loge' and Khan's own Raees (2017) with 'Laila'.
The antics of the actor, popularly known by his initials as SRK, are a delight even though they are for a short duration. Going by the footage, it appears that he is playing a waiter at a party. The teaser ends with the line ‘Hum jiske peechhe lag jaate hain, life bana dete hain [When we get behind someone their life is made]’, adding an interesting note.
Kamal Haasan and Anupam Kher’s dwarf acts in Appu Raja (1989) and Jaan-e-Mann (2006), respectively, did not rely as much on technology as Aanand L Rai's Zero seems to do. It would be interesting to see how the makers have managed to pull this off through the entire film.
The film also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, while Deepika Padukone has a song appearance.
Zero is set to be released on 21 December 2018. Watch the sneak-peek:
