Register yourself with my association, Rajini tells fans, public

The superstar's appeal comes a day after he announced his decision to enter politics.

A day after he created a storm by announcing his decision to enter politics, Rajinikanth today issued a statement urging all those wishing to bring in political change for the better in Tamil Nadu to register with the Rajini Mandram (Rajini Association).

In the statement, Rajini, who thanked all those who had welcomed his decision to enter politics, said, ”I have an  important announcement to make. All members of my registered fan associations, all those belonging to fan associations that are unregistered, and all those people in Tamil Nadu who wish for good political change can register themselves using their name and voter ID number either on the android App RajiniMandram or on the website www.Rajinimandram.org. We shall all come together to bring in good change in Tamil Nadu.“

The move appears to be a way for the superstar to gauge the support he has in the state as a prelude to launching his party.

Yesterday, he had announced his decision to enter politics, saying he would be launching his own party that would contest all 234 constituencies in the state at the next assembly election.

Although Rajinikanth announced his decision to enter politics, he said he would launch his party after the announcement of the elections to the state assembly.

The actor's announcement has triggered a lot of activity in both film and political circles in the state.
